Brian's mother was an, HIV positive, alcoholic who failed to provide adequate care for her ill son. She placed him in many inappropriate and dangerous situaitions as a result of her reckless lifestyle. in 2008 GCC agreed to assume guardianship and care for Brian. A recent visitor to Kenya, Ashlee, fell in love with Brian and made the decision to sponsor him. She wrote to me for more information and I sent the requested information and also sent her this photo of Brian taken less than a year ago. She took one look at the child's thin little limbs and distended tummy and thought that I must have the wrong child, after all there are a couple of "Brians" at GCC. When describing him she said that the mums at the orphanage called the Brian that she
was interested in "the chunky one," he was a very happy, healthy, and chubby little guy!
There was no mistake.....less than a year after entering GCC Brian is now "the chunky one" indeed. His favorite pass-time is eating and he is receiving excellent care and love. Here's the photo that Ashlee had taken for herself......no wonder she thought the photo sent was the wrong little boy. What a difference a year makes!
In the past few months there have been four brand new babies added to GCC: Jordan, Emmeline, Keiran and Violet.... praise God that these tiny babies are getting a great healthy start to a life full of potential!
